Raptors Sign Coach Casey to Three-Year Deal After Playoff Exit

The Toronto Raptors signed coach Dwane Casey to a three-year contract, two days after the team was eliminated from its first National Basketball Association playoff appearance in six seasons.

Casey, 57, is now under contract through the 2016-17 season, the Raptors said in an e-mailed statement.

Toronto won a franchise-record 48 games this season and its first Atlantic Division title since 2007. The team was eliminated by the Brooklyn Nets two days ago in Game 7 of their first round series.

Casey has a 105-125 record since taking the job in 2011. The Raptors have not won a playoff series in 13 seasons.
