Buffett Taps Morningstar's Warren to Fill Analyst Panel

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. invited Morningstar Inc. (MORN)’s Greggory Warren to join a panel of analysts posing questions to Chairman Warren Buffett and Vice Chairman Charles Munger at an annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska on May 3.

Buffett’s assistant called “a couple of weeks ago,” the Morningstar analyst said in a phone interview today. “Warren was having a difficult time finding an accredited bear.”

In an annual letter posted online last month, Buffett wrote that he wanted this year’s meeting to be the second straight to include an investor betting that Berkshire shares would decline. The role was filled last year by Doug Kass.

The other analysts scheduled to appear this year are Jay Gelb of Barclays Plc and Ruane Cunniff & Goldfarb’s Jonathan Brandt. Shareholders and a panel of journalists also ask questions at the event.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier today that Morningstar’s Warren was invited to ask questions. Berkshire confirmed his attendance.
