As many as 40 rhino horns were stolen from safes of the parks agency in the South African province of Mpumalanga, the Lowvelder newspaper reported, citing an unidentified person.
Two steel safes were cut open on April 20, the newspaper reported.
Rhino poaching rose to a record in South Africa last year. The horn is mainly smuggled to east Asia where it is believed to cure cancer and boost virility.
