SunEdison Closes Adobe Plant Sale to Southern, Turner Renewable

SunEdison Inc. (SUNE), the solar developer and polysilicon supplier formerly known as MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., completed the sale of its 20-megawatt Adobe Solar Facility to Southern Co. (SO) and Turner Renewable Energy LLC.

The project in Kern County, California, is the fourth the company has developed for Southern and Turner Renewable since June 2012, St. Peters, Missouri-based SunEdison said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Dawn Brister, a SunEdison spokeswoman, didn’t immediately respond to phone and e-mail messages seeking additional comment.

Edison International (EIX)’s Southern California Edison has agreed to buy electricity from the Adobe solar farm under a 20-year contract.
