Hawks Take 2-Game Lead Over Knicks in Chase for NBA Playoff Spot

The Atlanta Hawks widened their margin to two games over the New York Knicks in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the National Basketball Association’s Eastern Conference by beating Boston 105-97.

Jeff Teague scored 19 points and Paul Millsap had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks, who outscored Boston 35-20 in the fourth quarter at Philips Arena in Atlanta last night. Avery Bradley had 24 points for the Celtics, who lost their 13th straight road game.

The Hawks are now 35-43, while the Knicks -- who did not play last night -- are 33-45. Each team has four games remaining in the regular season.

Neither team plays tonight. The Knicks are at Toronto tomorrow night, while the Hawks are at Brooklyn.
