Chelsea Coach Mourinho Fined 8,000 Pounds for Improper Conduct

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho was fined 8,000 pounds ($13,400) after being sent to the stands during a 1-0 loss at Aston Villa last month.

English soccer’s Football Association found him guilty of improper conduct after he went on to the field and tried to speak to referee Chris Foy, who also red-carded Chelsea’s Ramires and Willian during the game.

Mourinho had denied the charge at a regulatory commission hearing yesterday, the F.A. said on its website. He was also warned about his future conduct.

Chelsea is second in the Premier League, two points behind Liverpool, and reached the Champions League semifinals this week by eliminating Paris Saint-Germain.
