Gamesa Wins 25-Turbine Contract From China’s CGN Wind

Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica (GAM) SA, Spain’s largest wind-turbine maker, won a contract to supply China’s CGN Wind Energy with 25 wind turbines.

Gamesa must deliver the G97 2-megawatt turbines in July to CGN’s Chengdingsha wind farm in Shandong province, the Zamudio-based company said today in an e-mailed statement. The wind farm is due to be finished by the end of this year.

Gamesa said it’s already supplied 3,510 megawatts of turbines in China. It now has signed contracts totaling 106 megawatts with CGN, a unit of China General Nuclear Power Holding Corp.

Last year, Gamesa took 1.6 percent of the Chinese market, ranking as the 16th-biggest supplier in a business dominated by local manufacturers, according to data from the Chinese Wind Energy Association.
