Royal Bank of Scotland Plans to Operate Banking Unit in Canada

Royal Bank of Scotland Plc plans to operate a banking business in Canada.

The Edinburgh-based lender will do business in Canada under the name Royal Bank of Scotland Plc, Canada Branch, according to a notice in the Canada Gazette, the government’s official regulatory publication. Royal Bank of Scotland yesterday posted its biggest full-year loss since taking a bailout in 2008.
