We know what you're thinking: Boston? In the dead of winter? But hear us out—it's actually a great time to go, thanks to the first ever Hotel Week Boston, from February 16-23. Score the best deals on 20 hotels across the city, with prices slashed by at least 25 percent off their lowest rate. Plus, all the participating hotels are also throwing in a free amenity, typically parking, Wi-Fi, breakfast, or in the case of the Charles Hotel, gratis ice-skating passes to its own rink.

Local attractions are trying to attract visitors too, with offers like 20 percent off tickets to the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre's winter performance, Unbridled, and two-for-one admission at Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, Stone Zoo, or Franklin Park Zoo (where you can warm up in the 72-degree Tropical Forest Exhibit).

And then there's everything else we love about Boston—museums, restaurants, shopping, this tourist magnet—that won't be over packed with visitors. Plus, nothing beats watching the snow fall on Newbury Street.
