The accord, which takes effect next season, was announced by AIA and the English Premier League soccer team on their websites today. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The insurer’s logo has been on Tottenham’s jerseys for cup matches this season under an existing deal.
Tottenham is fifth in the Premier League after 26 of 38 games this season, having won 4-0 at Newcastle last night. The London-based club has a following of 180 million supporters globally, with 80 million of those living in Asia, according to AIA.
“English Premier League football has tremendous appeal in Asia,” AIA Group Chief Executive Officer Mark Tucker said in a statement on the team website.
