Six litigation and leveraged finance partners are leaving Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP to join Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York.
The leveraged-finance partners are Ronan Wicks, Patrick Flanagan, and Jason White. Wicks was the global co-head of his prior firm’s banking and debt capital markets group, which he started with Flanagan and White, according to Shearman’s statement.
“The addition of these two high-profile teams will strengthen what are traditionally strong practices for our firm,” Shearman & Sterling senior partner Creighton Condon said in a statement. “We continue to see litigation and leveraged finance as priority focus areas.”
Frank, a securities and M&A litigator, as well as a trial lawyer, was recruited by Adam Hakki, Shearman’s global head of the firm’s litigation group, the firm said.
Craner was deputy chairman of Orrick’s securities litigation and regulatory enforcement practice.
Flanagan spent four years in Hong Kong as head of Latham & Watkins LLP’s Asia leveraged-finance practice, and he served two secondments at Goldman Sachs, working in the legal and loan negotiation groups.
White previously was Americas head of the finance legal practice at Barclays Capital, overseeing nonbanking regulatory matters as well as transactions compliance and financial insolvency, the firm said.
“We wish these partners well and thank them for their contributions to our firm,” Orrick said in a statement.
