Harvard Says One Undergraduate Killed, More Injured in Accident

A Harvard University undergraduate was killed and others were injured in a traffic accident in New Jersey today.

The students were returning to Harvard’s campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from a weekend competition in Virginia when the accident occurred, Interim College Dean Donald Pfister said today in an e-mail to students.

Details of the accident haven’t been released because the deceased student’s parents haven’t yet been contacted, Pfister said in the e-mail. The injured students were taken to a hospital, he said.

“This is a terrible tragedy that has affected all of us in the college,” Pfister said in the e-mail. “In the meantime, please keep the students, their families and their friends in your thoughts.”
