China’s January Logistics Prosperity Index Falls to 51.5

Following is a table of China’s logistics prosperity index (LPI) in January released by the Beijing-based China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP).

The LPI is based on data compiled from monthly replies to questionnaires sent to over 300 logistics enterprises in 8 industries. It is an indicator about economic and business conditions in China.

Note 1: LPI is a composite index based on diffusion indices for five major

components with the following weightings: new orders (30%),

business volume (25%), employment (20%), capacity utilization

(15%), and inventory turnover (10%). Note 2: An index reading above 50 shows expansion in logistic activities

while below 50 suggests contraction. Note 3: Fung Business Intelligence Centre is responsible for drafting

and disseminating the English LPI report for CFLP.
