The Arc House stands out quite on its own, but in East Hampton, where many of the homes are traditional, clapboard-shingled and classic, it is quite an eye catcher, says David Zazula of Halstead Property.

“There’s a history of modern architecture here,” Zazula said. “But they’re durable, efficient and much easier to maintain than they used to be. So they’re making a strong comeback.”

The Arc House in particular is nearly all glass, but able to withstand whatever weather Long Island throws its way with its steel arc and hurricane-proof windows, as well as high-efficiency features. The all-glass windows create a sense of the outdoors … inside.

Measuring just over 5,000 square feet, the Arc House has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a home gym with sauna and 1,000-bottle wine room. Despite the open feeling of the home, the house feels generously sized and there was no cost spared in any of the finishes, “from the flooring down to the fixtures in the bathroom and the appliances in the kitchen,” says Zazula.

Green features of the home include geothermal heating, a rainwater collection system and a living, vegetated roof on the four-car garage.
