Canadian Solar Sells Ontario Project to BlackRock-Managed Fund

Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ), the best-performing solar manufacturer last year, agreed to sell a 10-megawatt solar farm to a fund managed by BlackRock Inc. (BLK)

The Westbrook power plant in Kingston, Ontario, is expected to begin producing power in the second quarter, Canadian Solar said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Canadian Solar also provided panels for four Belectric Inc. projects in Southern California that total 7.8 megawatts, the Guelph, Ontario-based company said in a separate statement. The solar farms were commissioned in December and sold to Sustainable Power Group LLC.

Canadian Solar increased more than eightfold in 2013, the most in the Bloomberg Industries Global Large Solar Energy Index.
