SoftBank, Mitsui Japan Solar Plant to Start Operating Next Month

A 42.9 megawatt solar power plant built by a SoftBank Corp. (9984) unit and Mitsui & Co. (8031) in western Japan will start operating next month.

The plant in Tottori prefecture will start running Feb. 1, SB Energy Corp., the wholly owned renewable subsidiary of Tokyo-based SoftBank, said in a statement today.

Separately, Mitsui and SB Energy in November announced plans to build two solar power stations in Kumamoto and Fukuoka prefectures.
