Daiwa House to Build 6MW Solar Power Station in Western Japan

Daiwa House Industry Co. (1925), a Japanese homebuilder, and its energy unit will build a 6 megawatt solar power plant in the western prefecture of Nara.

The 1.8 billion yen ($17 million) plant will start selling power in November to Kansai Electric Power Co. (9503), Daiwa House said on its website today.

The plant will use solar panels by Sharp Corp. (6753), according to the statement. Daiwa House Group seeks to develop a total 120 megawatts of clean energy by March 2016.
