New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez will be banned for the 2014 season and postseason, Major League Baseball said in a statement announcing an arbitrator’s decision.

New York Yankees’ third baseman Alex Rodriguez will be banned for the 2014 Major League Baseball season for violating the sport’s doping policy, an arbitrator has ruled.

He also will be banned for the 2014 postseason, MLB said in a statement announcing arbitrator Fredric Horowitz’s decision.
