The door will be removed and examined by the airline and a team of specialists from Airbus, Singapore Air said in an e-mailed statement today. A replacement door will be fitted to the plane in Baku before it returns to Singapore for more inspections, it said.
On Jan. 6, the Singapore Air flight 317, headed to Singapore from London, landed at Baku airport after the aircraft lost cabin pressure. The plane had 467 passengers.
Singapore Air was the world’s first carrier to operate the A380 and had 19 in its fleet as of Dec. 1. It has five more on order. Airbus has delivered 122 A380s to 10 airlines worldwide since commercial flights began in 2007, according to the planemaker’s website.
