Desalitech in Industrial Water-Treatment Pact With India’s UPL

Desalitech Ltd., a provider of water technologies that lower power costs, said it will supply UPL Environmental Engineers Ltd. with an advanced industrial wastewater-treatment system for a plant in Gujarat, India.

No terms were given for what Newtown, Massachusetts-based Desalitech described as a high-recovery reverse-osmosis system to process 53,000 gallons (200 cubic meters) a day of effluent at a plant that produces as much as 6,000 metric tons a year of pesticides for agricultural use. It said by eliminating liquid waste, disposal costs and environmental impacts will be reduced.
