Munger’s Daily Journal Misses Second Reporting Deadline

Daily Journal Corp. (DJCO), the California publisher that counts Charles Munger as chairman, missed a second deadline for releasing its annual filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

An audit of financial statements for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30 by Ernst & Young LLP hasn’t been completed, Los Angeles-based Daily Journal said today in a filing. The publisher had missed a reporting deadline earlier this month and said it expected to file by year-end.

Munger, 89, best known as Warren Buffett’s longtime business partner, helped fuel gains in the publisher’s market value by managing its investments along with Vice Chairman J.P. Guerin.

Daily Journal more than doubled this year to $191.85 as of 4:18 p.m. in New York.
