Alfa Laval Wins Australia Order for Cleaning Wastewater From Gas

Alfa Laval AB (ALFA), the world’s biggest maker of heat exchangers, won an order from an Australian energy company to supply a treatment system for cleaning wastewater from natural gas production.

Alfa Laval, which didn’t name the company that awarded it the 90 million Swedish kronor ($14 million) contract, makes gear for cleaning wastewater and purifying ballast water as well as scrubbers that scour sulfur emissions on ships.

The order for the modular treatment system that evaporates the wastewater, significantly reducing the waste for disposal, shows the increasing demand from the gas industry, the Lund, Sweden-based company said today in a statement.
