Yingli Group Wins 233-Megawatt Solar Panel Order in Algeria

A group of companies led by a unit of Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. (YGE) has won an order to provide 233 megawatts of solar panels to projects in Algeria.

The consortium, comprised of Yingli Energy (China) Co., Sinohydro Corp. and Hydrochina Corp., will design and build the projects for Shariket el Kahraba wa el Taket el Moutadiadida, a unit of Sonelgaz, which is an electricity and natural gas distributer in Algeria, Yingli said in a statement yesterday.

Construction will begin in January and is expected to be completed in eight months, Baoding-based Yingli said. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
