Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Names Turcotte to Board

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, the country’s fifth-largest lender, named Martine Turcotte to its board.

Turcotte, 53, is vice chairwoman of Quebec for BCE Inc. (BCE) and Bell Canada, the Toronto-based lender said today in a statement. She’s a director of Empire Co. and its Sobeys Inc. unit, as well as Bell Aliant Inc. and Bimcor Inc., the bank said.

Turcotte becomes the fifth woman on CIBC’s board, which expands to 17 members with her appointment, said Caroline Van Hasselt, a bank spokeswoman.
