Botswana’s Gaborone Dam Waters at Lowest on Record: Mmegi

Water in Botswana’s Gaborone Dam has reached the lowest level since the reservoir was built in the 1960s, Mmegi Online reported, citing Water Utilities Corp.

The dam is 13 percent full compared with 35 percent the same time last year even though the rainy season has set in, Mmegi reported, citing WUC spokesman Matida Mmipi. Nnywane Dam dried up several months ago and has received no new inflows while Bokaa Dam is at 4.8 percent capacity compared with almost 40 percent a year earlier, the Gaborone-based publication said.
