American Water Works Co. (AWK), the largest publicly traded water utility in the U.S., affirmed its 2013 forecast today and said earnings per share next year would be in the $2.35 to $2.45 range.

Fifteen water and wastewater acquisitions were made this year, said the Voorhees, New Jersey-based company, which expects 2013’s adjusted EPS to range from $2.17 to $2.22 not including an estimated 14-cent per share one-time charge related to the tender offer by its finance unit American Water Capital Corp. Its shares have risen 12 percent the past year.
