A venture by Manila Water Co. (MWC), the Philippines’ largest publicly traded water utility, and Cebu’s provincial government won a supply contract for Cebu, the country’s oldest city and part of the region hit by Typhoon Haiyan.
Under the agreement, the Cebu Manila Water Development Inc. venture will supply 18 million liters (4.75 million gallons) of water for the first year of a 20-year water purchase agreement and almost twice that much for the remaining years to the Metropolitan Cebu Water District, Manila Water said in a stock exchange filing. Financial terms weren’t given.
