Coach Saban Agrees to Long-Term Deal at University of Alabama

Nick Saban agreed to a “long-term agreement” to remain at The University of Alabama as head football coach, the school said tonight in a Twitter post.

Saban, 62, who has led the Crimson Tide to four national championships, already was the highest paid coach in college football at $5.62 million per year after signing an extension in March that kept him under contract through 2020, ESPN reported.

He has been at Alabama since 2007, and led the school to national championships in 2003, 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Alabama didn’t release terms of the new deal, which must be approved by the school’s board of trustees.
