Oasys Water In Forward-Osmosis Pact With National Oilwell Varco

Oasys Water Inc., a provider of desalination and water-treatment technologies for industrial markets, said today that it signed a sales agreement for its forward-osmosis technology with National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NOV)

Under the partnership, the biggest U.S. maker of oil-field equipment will be the exclusive licensee of Boston-based Oasys’s membrane brine concentrator technology in upstream oil and gas for produced water treatment. No terms were disclosed.

Oasys, founded in 2009, said in a statement that the initial MBC 4000 system to be rolled out next summer is a moveable unit capable of treating and desalinating as much as 4,000 barrels or 630 cubic meters a day of produced water.
