Suzlon Jumps After Unit Wins Mitsui Wind-Farm Contract

Suzlon Energy Ltd. (SUEL) rose as much as 9.3 percent after saying a unit won an order from Mitsui & Co. (8031) for a wind farm in Australia.

REpower Systems SE will deliver 52 turbines to the 107-megawatt Bald Hills wind farm in Victoria state, Suzlon said in an e-mailed statement today.

The project near Tarwin Lower will be completed by the second quarter of 2015, Suzlon said. The contract with Mitsui includes a 10-year agreement to service the wind farm with the option of a five-year extension.

Suzlon rose 6.9 percent at 9.78 rupees as of 10:44 a.m. in Mumbai, heading for its biggest gain in almost two weeks. The benchmark S&P BSE Sensitive Index rose 0.9 percent.
