Former Giants End Strahan Among Pro Football Hall Semifinalists

Former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan and former National Football League Commissioner Paul Tagliabue are among 25 modern-era semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014.

There are four first-year-eligible candidates -- linebacker Derrick Brooks, wide receiver Marvin Harrison, offensive tackle Walter Jones and coach Tony Dungy -- on the list released last night by the Canton, Ohio-based Hall of Fame.

The 25 semifinalists, who also include former Giants General Manager George Young, were chosen from a list of 126 nominees.

Fifteen finalists will be selected on Jan. 8, and the inductees will be announced on Feb. 1. The Class of 2014 will be enshrined Aug. 2 in Canton.
