U.S. Soybean Harvest 77% Collected, USDA Says; Corn 59% Complete

Soybean harvesting as of yesterday rose from 63% on Oct. 20, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said today in a report. * Corn harvesting was up from 39% completed a wk ago * Cotton harvesting was 34% completed yesterday, up from 21% * Winter-wheat planting was 86% completed, up from 79% last wk * About 65% of the winter-wheat crop emerged, up from 53% * An estimated 61% of the wheat crop that will be harvested beginning in May was rated in good or excellent condition yesterday, down from 65% a wk earlier * See GLCO for commodity futures prices
