Samsung C&T Corp. (000830)’s Canadian renewables unit and Pattern Energy Group LP will install 67 of Siemens’s 2.3-megawatt turbines as part of the Grand Renewable Energy Park that will also have 100 megawatts of solar panels, Munich-based Siemens said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.
The plant in Haldimand County, Ontario, is the second Samsung and Pattern are building with Siemens equipment. They are also developing the 270-megawatt South Kent Wind project in Chatham-Kent County that will go into operation in the first quarter. Power from both will be sold to Ontario Power Authority.
