BlackRock Names Hillary Clinton’s Ex-Counselor to Board

BlackRock Inc. (BLK), the world’s largest asset manager, named Cheryl D. Mills, previously counselor and chief of staff to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to its board of directors.

Mills, who advised Clinton on major foreign policy challenges and operational priorities, will join the board Nov. 20 as an independent director, according to a statement today from the New York-based firm. Previously, Mills served as senior vice president for administration and operations and as general counsel for New York University from 2002 to 2009.
