Xylem Names GE Executive as Managing Director for India Water

Xylem Inc. (XYL), the water technology company spun off by ITT Corp., today announced the appointment of General Electric Co. (GE) executive H. Balasubramaniam as managing director for India.

Balasubramaniam was business director of GE’s locomotive projects and formerly served as chief executive officer of GE Water Process and Technologies, South Asia. “His success in growing GE’s water business in India fit perfectly with our need to develop further in this important growth market,” said Steve Loranger, CEO and president of Xylem.

‘‘Bala’’ replaces Sam Yamdagni, who’s leaving the company, White Plains, New York-based Xylem said in a statement.
