Sebastian Vettel will start from pole position in tomorrow’s Korean Grand Prix as he seeks his fourth consecutive win of the Formula One season.
Vettel, of the Red Bull team, posted a time of 1 minute, 37.202 seconds around the Yeongnam circuit to beat out Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes by 0.218 seconds. It’s the German’s third consecutive pole and sixth of the seaon.
Vettel’s three straight victories give him seven on the season. He holds a 60-point lead in the standings over Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who qualified sixth today, with six of 19 races left.
Red Bull’s Mark Webber qualified third, but a 10-place grid penalty from the last race in Singapore dropped him to 13th. Romain Grosjean of Lotus and Nico Rosberg of Mercedes rounded out the top five qualifiers.
