Financial Technology Partners LP, an adviser to small payments and banking software firms, has hired Jeffrey Haughton, a former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. investment banker, as a managing director in its San Francisco office.
Haughton spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a managing director and co-head of financial technology, according to a statement from FT Partners today. He was among the advisers on Visa Inc.’s $19.7 billion initial public offering in 2008, the largest-ever IPO in the U.S., according to the statement.
FT Partners was founded in 2001 by Steve McLaughlin, another ex-Goldman Sachs banker.
“Adding Jeff to our senior team will provide an immediate benefit as we continue to expand our franchise globally,” McLaughlin said in today’s statement.
FT Partners advised payment processor Century Payments Inc. on its sale to Worldpay UK Ltd., and online payment processor Network Merchants LLC on the sale of a $200 million stake to Bregal Investments LLP, a private equity firm, according to company press releases.
