Right fielder Hunter Pence will sign a five-year, $90 million contract extension with the San Francisco Giants, according to CBSSports.com.
Pence, who helped the Giants win the 2012 World Series after joining the team in a July trade from the Philadelphia Phillies, is said to have a no-trade clause in the new deal, the website said, without citing its source.
Pence, a 30-year-old two-time All-Star, has played in all 161 Giants’ games this season, batting .282 with 27 home runs and 96 runs batted in. For his seven-year Major League Baseball career with the Houston Astros, Phillies and Giants, he’s a .285 hitter with 164 homers and 610 RBI.
