The following is a roundup of soccer stories from U.K. newspapers, with clickable Internet links.

Rami for Sale

Arsenal, Manchester City and Barcelona are interested in signing Valencia’s Adil Rami following the Frenchman’s criticism of coach Miroslav Djukic, the Daily Express reported.

The French defender was fined and put on the transfer list by the Spanish club after he told a radio station of “confusion” in the dressing room and accused Djukic of not saying things “to your face,” the newspaper added.

Poyet on Hold

Gus Poyet’s appointment as Sunderland’s new boss is on hold, the Daily Mirror said.

The Black Cats’ director of football Roberto De Fanti has advised owner Ellis Short that the former Brighton manager is the right man to replace Paolo di Canio, but Short wants more time before making a decision, the newspaper said.

Liverpool’s Watching

Liverpool is monitoring Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao, who moved to the Italian team from Barcelona in 2011, the Express said.

The Spanish-born player had an assist in Lazio’s 1-0 Europa League win over Legia Warsaw last week with Liverpool scouts in attendance, the newspaper said.

Van Ginkel Out

Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel, who joined the Blues before this season, will miss the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury, the Daily Mail said.

A scan showed that the player tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the club’s 2-0 win over Swindon earlier this week, the newspaper said.
