The U.S. clearinghouse for exchange-traded options namedCraig Donohue, the former chief executive officer of CME Group Inc., as its executive chairman.
Donohue will replace Wayne Luthringshausen, who had been chairman since 1977, as of Jan. 1, OCC said in an e-mailed statement today. Two people familiar with the matter said in July that Chicago-based OCC was in talks to hire Donohue for the role.
OCC guarantees all options trading on U.S. exchanges. It previously announcd that Michael E. Cahill was replacing Luthringshausen as the CEO of the organization.
