Real Madrid today said Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to a contract extension with the nine-time European soccer champion.

The 28-year-old Portugal international will attend a press conference at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium later today, the club said in a statement on its official website.

No details of the new contract were given.

Real Madrid this month agreed to pay 78 million pounds ($121 million) to buy Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.
