Baseball Releases 2014 Schedule With Season Opening in Australia

Major League Baseball released its 2014 tentative schedule, including a season-opening series in Sydney between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks on March 22-23.

The next game will be on March 30 on “Sunday Night Baseball,” shown by Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN, MLB said on its website. The two teams playing will be named later. Fourteen games are scheduled for March 31.

The New York Yankees and Mets will play their annual series in May, with games at Yankee Stadium on May 12-13 and at Citi Field on May 14-15. The Yankees open in Houston against the Astros on April 1. The Mets host the Washington Nationals the day before for their first game.

The regular season ends on Sept. 28. The final schedule, with complete game times, will be released in January, MLB said.
