American Water Buys Three Pennsylvania Systems for $6.9 Million

American Water Works Co. (AWK), the largest publicly traded U.S. water utility, bought three water and wastewater systems in Pennsylvania for $6.9 million.

The three acquisitions, two in Pike County and one in Adams County, serve a combined 2,100 people, Voorhees, New Jersey-based American Water said in a statement yesterday.

The company’s Pennsylvania American Water unit has made six acquisitions this year, according to the statement.
