Scotiabank Names Hart Chief Risk Officer as Pitfield Retires

Bank of Nova Scotia named Stephen Hart chief risk officer, replacing Robert Pitfield, who is retiring from Canada’s third-biggest bank after 30 years.

Pitfield will continue with Scotiabank until January to help in the transition, the Toronto-based bank said today in a statement. Hart takes over Sept. 1.

Hart, currently chief credit officer, has been with Scotiabank for 35 years. He oversees the global management of credit risk at the bank. Terry Fryett, a Scotiabank employee for 36 years, will take over as chief credit officer on Sept. 1.
