Jackson Hole, FOMC, U.S. Home Sales, HP: Week Aug. 17-24

Central bankers and policy makers meet in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to discuss the global economy and monetary policy.

The Federal Reserve releases minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee’s July meeting, which probably will provide details about deliberations on when to taper stimulus.

U.S. existing home sales surged in July and Japan posted its 13th consecutive monthly trade deficit, data in the coming week may show.

Glencore Xstrata Plc (GLEN), created in a $29 billion deal, reports its first results as a combined company.

Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ), Home Depot Inc. (HD), BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) and United Co. Rusal also report results.
