Profit at U.S. Northeast’s Largest Water Provider Rises 3.6%

Connecticut Water Service Inc. (CTWS), the largest publicly traded water provider in the U.S. Northeast, today reported second-quarter profit rose 3.6 percent to $4.3 million. Revenue was almost unchanged from a year earlier.

Shares of the Clinton, Connecticut-based company that supplies drinking water to about 400,000 people have declined 4.6 percent the past year compared with a 13 percent gain by the biggest water company in the U.S., American Water Works Co.
