Eurasian Minerals Sells Slovakia, Peru Geothermal Energy Assets

Eurasian Minerals Inc. (EMX), a Canadian mineral-exploration company, sold its geothermal projects in Slovakia and Peru to Starlight Geothermal Ltd. in return for a 5 percent equity stake in the company.

Eurasian Minerals also received an undisclosed cash payment and will get royalties from the projects’ future energy production, the Vancouver-based company said today in a statement.

Eurasian Minerals had five licenses in Slovakia totaling 320 square kilometers (123.6 square miles) and four in Peru totaling 328 square kilometers, according to the statement.
