HSBC Holdings Plc (HSBA), Europe’s largest lender, named Alan Keir chief executive officer of HSBC Bank Plc, overseeing its U.K., European, Middle Eastern and African divisions.
He replaces Brian Robertson, 59, who is retiring, and will report to CEO Stuart Gulliver, the London-based lender said in a statement today.
Keir, 54, will be replaced as head of HSBC’s global commercial banking unit by Simon Cooper, 45. Mohammad Al Tuwaijri will become CEO of HSBC Middle East and North Africa from October to replace Cooper, the bank said.
