Biden Spoke With Ecuador’s President About Snowden, Rhodes Says

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has spoken with Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa on a range of issues including former U.S. intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, according Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes.

Rhodes didn’t provide additional details. Correa in his weekly broadcast on public radio said Biden told him Snowden is a fugitive from U.S. justice and asked Ecuador to reject Snowden’s request for asylum. Correa said he told Biden that the U.S. hasn’t honored Ecuadorean extradition requests in the past.
