Ukrainian boxing world champion Vitali Klitschko, an opposition leader, is leading an opinion poll for the country’s 2015 presidential election.
Klitschko was backed by 15.9 percent of Ukrainians in a May 21-30 survey of 2,030 eligible voters by the International Institute of Sociology, based in the capital, Kiev. His support rose 7 percentage points from June 2012, the institute said in an e-mailed statement today.
President Viktor Yanukovych had 14.3 percent backing, down 3 percentage points, according to the statement. The survey had a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
About 18.1 percent of voters would vote against all candidates, according to the poll.
